Gunner joined Rendigs in December 2023 and is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Medical Malpractice Defense Group. His practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on defending hospitals, physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare professionals in complex medical negligence, healthcare-liability, and wrongful death matters. He also handles general insurance-defense and civil litigation matters.   Gunner has developed meaningful experience defending high-exposure cases involving catastrophic adult injuries, fetal and neonatal injuries, complex causation disputes, and significant damages claims. He has helped defend multiple multi-week medical malpractice jury trials and works closely with clients and expert witnesses to develop effective defense strategy. Gunner particularly enjoys the challenge of distilling complex medical issues into clear defense themes, developing practical litigation strategies, and helping position cases for favorable resolution or trial.   Gunner earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he was an active member of the University of Cincinnati Law Review. He was also selected to participate in the Sixth Circuit Clinic, where he represented indigent criminal defendants in appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Gunner earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky, graduating summa cum laude. Outside the office, he enjoys golfing, skiing, and avidly following Kentucky basketball.
